Projektbeschreibung
Abstract
The R&D project AMDS.demo – Demonstration of the Austrian Mobility Data Space creates and evaluates a demonstrator of the Austrian Mobility Data Space (AMDS). The demonstrator is based on the study “KoDRM-AT – Concept study for the implementation of a national mobility data space in Austria” and implements the first phase of proof-of-concept specified in the rollout plan.
The aim of the project is to evaluate the two data space technologies Eclipse Dataspace Components (EDC) and Simpl Framework within the framework of Minimum Viable Products (MVP) with regard to their suitability for the implementation of an Austrian Mobility Data Space in practice. Based on the evaluation results, the proof-of-concept will then be implemented on a pilot basis with one of the two technologies as a working demonstrator. The demonstrator will enable data ecosystems to be connected to the data space via connector technology. The two data ecosystems EVIS.AT and GIP.AT will be connected in the project as examples. An exemplary data consumer will demonstrate registration in the data space and the transfer of data from the two data ecosystems. One focus of the project will be the evaluation of approaches to identity management and metadata management. The focus here will be on Self Sovereign Identities (SSIs) and mobilityDCAT-AP as a metadata standard. In this regard, particular attention will be paid to the connection to the future European Mobility Data Space (EMDS).
Another key objective of the project is to connect the AMDS demonstrator to the Austrian National Access Point (NAP) for mobility data (mobilitaetsdaten.gv.at), which is operated by AustriaTech. To this end, solutions are being tested that exploit synergies on both sides and enable the most seamless integration possible. One focus of the project will be the evaluation of approaches to identity management and metadata management. The focus here will be on Self Sovereign Identities (SSIs) and mobilityDCAT-AP as a metadata standard. In this regard, particular attention will be paid to the connection to the future European mobility data space.
The R&D project is accompanied by a business and organizational analysis, i.e., the development of an operating concept including the tasks and roles of a future operator, the creation of a detailed cost plan, and the development of models for the cooperation of data ecosystems within the data space. Finally, the proof-of-concept is evaluated based on the defined requirements and recommendations for action are derived for the next implementation phase.
The project is led by Salzburg Research Forschungsgesellschaft mbH and implemented in collaboration with ASFINAG Maut Service Gesellschaft mbH, Quintessenz Organisationsberatung GmbH, and Fraunhofer IVI.
