Mobilisierung und Vernetzung von nationalen Plattformen zum Thema „Advanced and Innovative Materials“ in Österreich

Projektbeschreibung

Österreich ist ein Land, in dem nachhaltiger sozialer und wirtschaftlicher Wohlstand auf einem sehr hohen Niveau besteht. Dafür ist eine internationale Wettbewerbsfähigkeit erforderlich, vor allem in Hinblick auf hochtechnologische Produkte und Dienstleistungen. Um dies zu erreichen, ist die Erschließung, Vernetzung und Mobilisierung zukunftsrelevanter Materialien und Technologien, also eine Schnittstellenbildung zwischen verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen, wirtschaftlichen Sektoren und öffentlichen Akteuren essenziell. Die Weiterentwicklung insbesondere in neuen Themenfeldern benötigt daher die koordinierte Zusammenarbeit, das Einbinden verschiedener Schlüsseltechnologien und das Schaffen eines Ortes, wo aktiv an Innovationen gearbeitet wird.

Das Projekt ATIMA hat die Motivation, die für die Thematik "Advanced Materials" - erweitert um den Begriff der "Innovative Materials" - relevantesten Akteure zusammenzuführen, sowie durch Einbindung, Mobilisierung und Vernetzung von bereits existierenden Plattformen eine optimale Nutzung der vorhandenen Ressourcen zu erzielen.

Das Ziel von ATIMA ist, (i) alle Akteure der Community zusammenzuführen, (ii) den Wissensaustausch innerhalb der Community sowie darüber hinaus in Österreich und international zu forcieren, (iii) gemeinsame Innovationsvorhaben zu initiieren, (iv) Trends und innovative Entwicklungen aufzuzeigen und daraus (v) Handlungsempfehlungen als Positionen zur österreichischen Forschungspolitik abzuleiten. Des Weiteren wird ATIMA die (vi) Sichtbarkeit der österreichischen Community national wie international erhöhen, und durch (vii) gezielte Maßnahmen (z.B.: wissenschaftliche Konferenzbeiträge, Jungforscher-Sessions, etc.) im Ausbildungs- und Weiterbildungsbereich die Entwicklung von zukünftigen Schlüsselakteuren in der österreichischen Community unterstützen. Durch die Zusammenstellung des Konsortiums mit den bereits etablierten, thematisch höchstrelevanten Plattformen in den Bereichen Nanotechnologie (BNN, nanonet-Austria), Leichtbau (A2LT), Additive Fertigung (AM-Austria), Metallurgie (ASMET) und smarte Textilien (Smart Textiles), liefert ATIMA bereits von Beginn an eine einzigartige Community. Somit ist eine Vielzahl an plattform-spezifischen Ergebnissen sichergestellt, ergänzt durch gemeinsam - also plattformübergreifend - erarbeitete Beiträge zu forschungspolitischen Themen der österreichischen Ministerien sowie als relevanter Akteur auf europäischer/internationaler Ebene (Europäische Technologieplattformen, Europäische Kommission, OECD, ISO, CEN, ECHA, etc.). Durch die Aktivitäten im Bereich der Kommunikation und Information (web-Sichtbarkeit, LinkedIn, etc.), liefert ATIMA (z.B. dem BMK oder der Europ.Komm.) Beiträge zu Strategieentwicklungen, Vernetzungstätigkeiten im Rahmen von z.B.: Workshops und Konferenzen, bei denen Nachwuchsforscher eingebunden werden, und zeigt die österreichische Innovationsstärke auf internationaler Ebene (z.B.: auf internationalen Messen, Konferenzen).

Ein wesentlicher Mehrwert des ATIMA Konsortiums stellen die langfristig aufgebauten Communities der Projektpartner dar, deren Identität jedenfalls durch ATIMA bestärkt wird und dadurch eine langfristige Kooperationsbasis des Projektes bzw. der Community ATIMA geschaffen wird.

Abstract

Austria is a country in which sustainable social and economic prosperity exists at a very high level. This requires international competitiveness, especially with regard to high-tech products and services. In order to achieve this, the development, networking and mobilization of future-relevant materials and technologies, i.e. the creation of interfaces between different scientific disciplines, economic sectors and public actors, is essential. Further development, particularly in new subject areas, therefore requires coordinated collaboration, the integration of various key technologies and the creation of a place where innovations are actively being worked on.

The ATIMA project has the motivation to bring together the most relevant actors for the topic of "Advanced Materials" - expanded to include the term "innovative materials" - and to achieve optimal use of existing resources through the integration, mobilization and networking of existing platforms.

The goal of ATIMA is to (i) bring together all community actors, (ii) promote the exchange of knowledge within the community and beyond in Austria and internationally, (iii) initiate joint innovation projects, (iv) highlight trends and innovative developments and (v) to derive recommendations for action as positions on Austrian research policy. Furthermore, ATIMA will increase the (vi) visibility of the Austrian community nationally and internationally, and through (vii) targeted measures (e.g. scientific conference contributions, young researcher sessions, etc.) in the field of training and further education, the development of future key players in the Austrian community. By putting together the consortium with the already established, thematically highly relevant platforms in the areas of nanotechnology (BNN, nanonet-Austria), lightweight construction (A2LT), additive manufacturing (AM-Austria), metallurgy (ASMET) and smart textiles (Smart Textiles), ATIMA has provided a unique community right from the start. This ensures a large number of platform-specific results, supplemented by jointly - i.e. cross-platform - contributions to research policy topics of the Austrian ministries as well as relevant actors at the European/international level (European Technology Platforms, European Commission, OECD, ISO, CEN, ECHA, etc.). Through its activities in the area of ​​communication and information (web visibility, LinkedIn, etc.), ATIMA provides contributions to strategy developments (e.g. to the BMK or the Europ.Komm.), networking activities within the framework of, for example: workshops and conferences at which young researchers are integrated, and shows Austria's innovative strength at an international level (e.g. at international trade fairs, conferences).

A significant added value of the ATIMA consortium is the long-term communities of the project partners, whose identity is strengthened by ATIMA and thereby creates a long-term basis for cooperation for the project and the ATIMA community.
