aspern.mobil LAB

Projektbeschreibung

Das aspern.mobil LAB hat sich in den letzten 4 Jahren als lokale Forschungsgemeinschaft aus Bewohner*innen, Forscher*innen, der Stadtverwaltung und Unternehmen in aspern Seestadt etabliert. Gemeinsam wurden Initiativen zur nachhaltigen urbanen Mobilität entwickelt, unterstützt und begleitet und dadurch die Mobilitäts- und Innovationskultur vor Ort mitgeformt. Gleichzeitig entwickelt sich die Seestadt kontinuierlich weiter; momentan wird etwa das Quartier “Am Seebogen” von den ersten Zuzügler*innen bezogen. Das Gebiet ist ein ideales Testbed für Fragen der quartiersbezogenen Mobilität durch (a) das beständige Wachstum des Stadtteils, (b) die sich verändernden lokalen Mobilitätsherausforderungen, (c) die Vorrangstellung nachhaltiger Mobilitätsangebote, (d) die Etablierung der Seestadt als “Urban Lab” der Stadt Wien als auch (e) die Lebensumbruchsituation der Menschen vor Ort und dem damit verbundenen Potential für Verhaltensänderungen.

Das aspern.mobil LAB fußt auf dem Netzwerk, der Infrastruktur, dem entwickelten Methodenset als auch dem Wissen und den Erfahrungen der Vorphase; all diese Aspekte des Labs werden im AML 3.0 gezielt weiterentwickelt. Das Netzwerk erweitert sich um umsetzungsorientierte Partner*innen (Urban Innovation Vienna, Forschungsbereich Recht), um verstärkt anwendungsorientierte Innovationsvorhaben zu unterstützen. Die aktive Nutzer*inneneinbindung, z.B. über die Open Mobility Innovation Wien Plattform, als auch das dynamische Setting der aspern Seestadt bilden hierbei die USP des Labs. Der thematische Fokus des AML 3.0 liegt auf quartiersbezogener Mobilität: Neben aktiver Mobilität+ und Mobility as a (shared) Service+ wird die Schwerpunktsetzung um First/Last Mile Logistik+ und Mobilitätsanreize, -kommunikation und marketing erweitert.

Das Ziel des aspern.mobil LABs ist die Stärkung der Übertragbarkeit von Mobilitätsinnovationen in andere Städte und Stadtteile. Dieses Bestreben wird unterstützt durch (a) die Integration rechtlicher Expertise in das Lab Kernteam (Forschungsbereich Recht der TU Wien) (b) eine verstärkte Kooperation mit der lokalen Verwaltung der Stadt Wien (insb. MA18) und (c) die Formierung eines umsetzungsorientierten Netzwerks mit nationalen und europäischen Mobilitätslaboren. Zudem bietet das aspern.mobil LAB dezidierte Lösungen für Herausforderungen der nachhaltigen Mobilität für Stadtentwicklungsgebiete, verringert den Mangel an differenzierten Mobilitätsdaten und erleichtert F&E Prozesse mit Nutzer*inneneinbindung.

Abstract

The aspern.mobil LAB has created a vivid local research community of citizens, researchers, the city administration and companies on-site of the urban development area of aspern Seestadt in the last few years. Initiatives concerning sustainable urban mobility were jointly developed, supported and guided by which, the local mobility and innovation culture was co-shaped. As a matter of fact, the development of aspern Seestadt is an ongoing process; only recently the first influx to the new quarter “Am Seebogen” has begun. Aspern Seestadt is a predestined urban testbed for neighbourhood-oriented forms of mobility through a unique mix of aspects, such as (a) an continuous growth of the quarter, (b) the steadily changing local mobility challenges, (c) the prioritisation of sustainable mobility systems within the quarter, (d) the establishment of aspern Seestadt as the urban lab of the city of Vienna and (e) the personal phase of transition of the people on-site and the related window of opportunity to establish new behaviour patterns.

The aspern.mobil LAB is based on the pre-established network, infrastructure, the developed set of methods as well as the knowledge and experience gained in the preliminary phase - all of which will be specifically refined and supplemented by implementation-oriented partners (Urban Innovation Vienna, Research Unit Law) in order to increasingly support application-oriented innovation ventures. Both the location within the dynamic setting of aspern Seestadt and the active integration and involvement of citizens (e.g. Open Mobility Innovation Wien Plattform) constitute the USP of the AML. Likewise, the thematic focus on neighbourhood-oriented forms of mobility retained, the emphasis is put on the already renowned sectors active mobility+ and mobility as a (shared) service+ and supplemented by the new sectors first/last mile logistics+ and mobility incentives, communication and marketing.

The designated target of aspern.mobil LAB is to strengthen and increase the transferability of innovation ventures into other cities or districts. This aspiration is supported by (a) the integration of the research unit of law as a lab partner, (b) a stronger link to the local city administration, especially to the MA18, and (c) the development of a cooperative network of mobility labs both on the national and the European scale. Aspern.mobil LAB offers solutions for the challenges urban development areas face in terms of sustainable mobility, it addresses the lack of disaggregated mobility data and facilitates research and development processes with user involvement.
