AAL Vision

Entwicklung einer AAL Vision 2025 für Österreich unter Einbeziehung aller Stakeholder und internationaler Trends

In den vergangenen Jahren hat sich der Forschungsbereich AAL stetig weiterentwickelt; er ist von schnellem Wachstum, stetiger Entwicklung und hoher Dynamik geprägt. Unter-schiedlichste Themen- und Lebensbereiche standen bisher im Fokus der verschiedenen nationalen und europäischen Förderprogramme, Projekte und Studien – von demografischem Wandel als Chance über Steigerung von Mobilität bis hin zur altersfreundlichen Gestaltung des Umfeldes. Basierend auf dem Positionspapier zur AAL Vision Austria der AAL Austria Plattform, das für die AAL Vision für Österreich die Lebensbereiche „Sicher Wohnen“, „Gut betreut“ und „Aktiv und mobil“ identifiziert, wird die Studie AAL Vision weitere relevante Lebens- und Themenbereiche identifizieren und ausarbeiten, sowie die bereits identifizierten spezifizieren und ergänzen.

Die Identifizierung solcher relevanten Lebens- und Themenbereiche für AAL ist insofern von Bedeutung, weil sie nicht nur Hinweise auf die zukünftige Entwicklung von Technologien und deren Einfluss auf verschiedenste Lebensbereiche gibt, sondern letztlich würdevolles Altern und Pflege sowie die Erhöhung von Lebensqualität im Alter mit und durch AAL Technologien zum Ergebnis hat. Um zudem den Forschungsbereich AAL zu stärken und eine strategische Wahl der zukünftig relevanten Kernbereiche zu ermöglichen, ist daher eine umfassende Analyse, Spezifizierung und Erweiterung der bisherigen Themenschwerpunk-te und identifizierten Lebensbereiche nötig. Zudem muss die Marktentwicklung berück-sichtigt werden, die neben neuen Technologietrends einen großen Einfluss auf die ver-schiedenen Lebensbereiche hat. Schließlich kann die Studie auch als ein Beitrag zur Stär-kung der gesellschaftlichen Akzeptanz für AAL Produkte, Services und Technologien sein.

Das Projekt hat zum Ziel, auf Basis einer umfassenden Recherche und Analyse bereits vorhandener bestehender nationaler und internationaler Studien und Projekte, Roadmaps zu Lebensqualität, Technologieeinsatz, Technologietrends und sozialem Mehrwert, Konzepte, Themenbereiche und Ausschreibungsschwerpunkte eine visionäre Strategie für den Be-reich AAL in Österreich, eingebettet in einen europäischen Kontext, zu erarbeiten. Dazu gehört auch die Analyse neu entstehender und aufstrebender Technologien wie Care Roboter oder Exoskelette, um deren Rolle und mögliche zukünftige Bedeutung im AAL Bereich zu identifizieren. Im Zentrum der Studie steht daher die Frage, welche Lebensbereiche in Zu-kunft im Fokus von AAL stehen sollen, und welche Bedeutung diese Bereiche für die unter-schiedlichen Stakeholder – End-AnwenderInnen, PflegerInnen, EntscheidungsträgerInnen, TechnologieentwicklerInnen, AnbieterInnen, ForscherInnen etc. – haben. Berücksichtigt wer-den zudem Genderaspekte, die besonders im Bereich Pflege nach wie vor von Relevanz sind, sowie Aspekte der Lebensqualität.

Abstract

In the last years, the field of AAL has enhanced and developed continuously; the field is shaped by a rapid growth, a steady development and is highly dynamic. Different areas of life, as well as areas of research, have been in the focus of national and European funding programmes, projects and studies – e.g. demographic change as chance, increase of mobility or age-friendly shaping of the living environment. Based on the position paper developed by the Austrian working group AAL Austria, about the AAL Vision for Austria, which identifies the areas “safe housing”, “good supervision” and the “preservation of activity and mobility” as key areas of life, the project AAL Vision will identify and elaborate further relevant areas of life and topics of AAL and specify and complete the already identified areas.

The identification of such areas of life and topics of AAL is important because they hint the future development of technologies and their influence on various areas of life. Further-more, in the end they result in dignified ageing and care, as well as an increase of quality of life in old age with the use of AAL technologies. For further strengthening the field of research of AAL and allow for a strategic choice of core areas, a broad analysis, specification and expansion of previous topics and identified areas of life has to be done. Additionally, market development and emerging technologies have great influence on the various areas of life and thus must be considered as well. Lastly, the study can also be seen as a contribution to reinforcing of societal acceptancy of AAL products, services and technologies.

The overall aim of the project is the development of a visionary strategy for the area of AAL in Austria, embedded in a pan-European context. For this, the study is based on comprehensive research and analysis of previous national and international studies and projects, roadmaps about quality of life, usage of technology, emerging technologies and societal value, concepts topics and thematic priorities of funding programmes. Furthermore, analysis of emerging technologies such as care robots and exoskeletons is done in order to identify their role and future potential in the area of AAL. At the heart of the study, therefore, is the question of potential future areas of life in the field of AAL and which importance they have on various stakeholders – such as end-users, caregivers, policy makers, technology developers, solution providers, researchers etc. Furthermore, gender aspects which, in the topic of care, are still of relevance, and aspects of quality of life are considered.
