Projektbeschreibung

Die Österreichische Gesellschaft für Künstliche Intelligenz (ASAI, www.asai.ac.at) ist Österreichs langjährigste und umfassendste Plattform zur Förderung von Forschung, Bildung und Innovation auf dem Gebiet der Künstlichen Intelligenz. Als Non-Profit-Organisation, die 1981 gegründet wurde, ist die ASAI seit mehr als vier Jahrzehnten Österreichs offizieller Vertreter in der European Association for Artificial Intelligence (EurAI), was eine enge Einbindung in die internationale KI-Community gewährleistet und die österreichische Forschung mit globalen Standards verbindet. Aufbauend auf ihrer einzigartig langen Geschichte, der internationalen Vernetzung und der Unterstützung durch Österreichs führende KI-ForscherInnen ist die ASAI in einer einzigartigen Position, um eine nachhaltige, effektive Vernetzungsplattform zu schaffen, die die Ziele der FFG-Ausschreibung erfüllt. Um die spezifischen Ziele der FFG-Ausschreibung zu erreichen, baut dieser Vorschlag auf dem soliden Fundament und der vertrauenswürdigen Rolle der ASAI-Community auf und bietet gleichzeitig gezielte Ergänzungen für 1) die Ausweitung der Vernetzungsaktivitäten durch eine enge Verbindung mit verwandten Plattformen, insbesondere mit Women in AI, 2) internationale Sichtbarkeit und Leuchtturmprojekte, 3) Förderung und Anwerbung von Talenten, 4) strategische politische und beratende Funktionen und 5) Community-getriebene Veranstaltungen.

Abstract

The Austrian Society for Artificial Intelligence (ASAI, www.asai.ac.at) is Austria's longest-standing and most comprehensive platform for the promotion of research, education and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence. As a non-profit organisation founded in 1981, ASAI has served as Austria's official representative in the European Association for Artificial Intelligence (EurAI) for more than four decades, ensuring close integration into the international AI community and linking Austrian research to global standards. Building on its unparalleled history, international networking and support from Austria's leading AI researchers, ASAI is uniquely positioned to create a sustainable, effective networking platform that fulfils the objectives of the FFG call. To achieve the specific goals of the FFG call, this proposal builds on the solid foundation and trusted role of the ASAI community while providing targeted additions for 1) expanding networking activities through a close connection of related platforms, in particular Women in AI, 2) international visibility and lighthouse projects, 3) talent attraction and support, 4) strategic policy and advisory functions, and 5) community-driven events.
