Projektbeschreibung
Vor dem Hintergrund der Dekarbonisierung sogenannter hard-to-abate (schwer vermeidbare) Sektoren zielt das Projekt CCUpScale darauf ab, die Entwicklung der Methode der mineralischen Carbonatisierung erheblich voranzutreiben. Bei diesem Prozess wird CO2 in Mineralien gebunden und gespeichet. Diese können als Rohstoffe für verschiedene Industriezweige genutzt werden. Die industrielle Pilotanlage wird als Modell für ähnliche Einrichtungen weltweit dienen und die Nachhaltigkeit industrieller Prozesse erheblich verbessern.
Abstract
In the fight of tackling the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industry, the CCUpScale project aims to significantly advance the field of mineral carbonation, a process that captures and stores CO2 in minerals that can be used as raw materials for various industries. The industrial integration plant will serve as a model for similar facilities globally, enhancing the sustainability of industrial processes.
