IEA Bioenergy Task 42-Biorefining in a Circular Economy

Projektbeschreibung

Österreich unterstützt das Implementing Agreement IEA-Bioenergy und nimmt aktiv am Task42 „Biorefining in a Circular Economy“ teil.
Ziel des IEA Bioenergy Task42 "Biorefining in a Circular Economy" ist es, die Kommerzialisierung und Markteinführung von umweltfreundlichen, sozialverträglichen und kostengünstigen Bioraffineriesystemen und -technologien zu erleichtern und politische und industrielle Entscheidungsträger entsprechend zu beraten. Durch die internationale Vernetzung der Partnerländer innerhalb des Tasks 42 sowie durch das Einbringen wichtiger auf nationaler Ebene generierter Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeiten, bietet der Task42 eine internationale Plattform für die Zusammenarbeit und den Informationsaustausch Industrie, KMUs, Regierungsorganisationen, NGOs, Forschungs- & Technologie-Unternehmen und Universitäten in Bezug auf Bioraffinerie-Forschung, Entwicklung, Demonstration und politische Analysen. Dies beinhaltet (i) die Entwicklung von Netzwerken, (ii) die Verbreitung von Informationen und (iii) die Bereitstellung von wissenschaftlich fundierten Technologieanalysen sowie (iv) die Unterstützung und Beratung von politischen Entscheidungsträgern, (v) die Einbindung der Industrie und (vi) die Förderung der Mitgliedschaft von Ländern mit einer starken Bioraffinerie-Infrastruktur und entsprechender Politik. Basierend auf diesem Informationsaustausch bzw. der Diskussion und Abstimmung auf internationaler Ebene entsteht sowohl für den Task 42 also auch für die daran teilnehmenden Partnerländer ein wertvoller Zusatznutzen.
Der Schwerpunkt des österreichischen Beitrags im kommenden Triennium liegt einerseits in der Bereitstellung quantitativer, wissenschaftlich fundierter und verständlicher Daten über den technischen, wirtschaftlichen und ökologischen Mehrwert von Bioraffinerien (TEE-Bewertungsmethodik) sowie der Zusammenfassung der Ergebnisse in Bioraffinerie-Factsheets. Andererseits in der Weiterführung der Aktivitäten zur Grünen Bioraffinerie durch die Erstellung eines aktualisierten Statusberichts sowie der Untersuchung der Möglichkeiten Biogasanlagen in Multiprodukt-Bioraffinerien zu transformieren. Außerdem bildet die breite Dissemination der Ergebnisse durch die Organisation nationaler Vernetzungsveranstaltungen sowie Beiträge zu nationalen und internationalen Newslettern bzw. Websites einen wichtigen Fokus im aktuellen Projektantrag.

Abstract

Austria supports the IEA Bioenergy Implementing Agreement and actively participates in Task42 "Biorefining in a Circular Economy".
The aim of the IEA Bioenergy Task42 "Biorefining in a Circular Economy" is to facilitate the commercialization and market introduction of environmentally friendly, socially acceptable and cost-effective biorefinery systems and technologies and to advise political and industrial decision-makers accordingly. Through the international networking of partner countries within Task 42, as well as by bringing in important nationally generated research and development, Task42 provides an international platform for collaboration and information exchange among industry, SMEs, GOs, NGOs, RTOs, and universities on biorefinery research, development, demonstration, and policy analysis. This includes (i) developing networks, (ii) disseminating information, and (iii) providing science-based technology analysis, as well as (iv) supporting and advising policy makers, (v) engaging industry, and (vi) promoting membership of countries with strong biorefinery infrastructure and policies. Based on this exchange of information or discussion and coordination at the international level, there is valuable added value for both Task 42 and the partner countries participating in it.
The focus of the Austrian contribution in the coming triennium will be on the one hand on providing quantitative, scientifically sound and comprehensible data on the technical, economic and ecological added value of biorefineries (TEE evaluation methodology) and on summarizing the results in biorefinery factsheets. On the other hand in the continuation of green biorefinery activities through the preparation of an updated status report and the investigation of the possibilities of transforming biogas plants into multi-product biorefineries. In addition, the broad dissemination of the results through the organization of national networking events and contributions to national and international newsletters and websites is an important focus of the current project application.
