Projektbeschreibung

Das Europäische Institut für Innovation und Technologie (EIT) wurde errichtet, um die Innovationsfähigkeit Europas in zentralen Infrastruktursektoren zu stärken: verbesserte Versorgung, wirksamere Gesundheitssysteme und erhöhte Wettbewerbsfähigkeit. Im Innovationsnetzwerk aus innovierenden Organisationen, Entrepreneuren und KMUs sowie Bildungseinrichtungen werden gemeinschaftlich neue Lösungen für entscheidende globale Herausforderungen mitsamt Betreibermodel gefunden. EIT Health fokussiert dabei auf den Gesundheitssektor, um präventive, Patient:innen-zentrierte und nachhaltigere Gesundheitssysteme in den Mitgliedstaaten zu schaffen. Mit dem EIT Health Austria entsteht der siebte europäische Innovationshub in Österreich der sich darauf konzentriert, die Interessensvertretung der österreichischen Partner:innen im EIT Health wahrzunehmen, die Partner:innen und Aktivitäten am Standort mit dem globalen Netzwerk zu integrieren, und die zukünftige strategische Ausrichtung und Wirkungsorientierung durch eigene Agenden und Themensetzungen mit zu gestalten.

Hauptziel des Innovationslabors HealthGateway.Austria ist es als Anlaufstelle und Drehscheibe für marktnahe, innovations- und wirkungsorientierte europäische kollaborative Forschung im Rahmen von EIT Health zu fungieren und die Integration österreichischer Unternehmen in EIT Health Aktivitäten und Initiativen herbeizuführen, sodass Digitalisierung und Nachhaltigkeit des Gesundheitswesens gestärkt werden.
Durch Synergien mit bestehenden Infrastrukturen und deren Akteuren auf regionaler oder nationaler Ebene potenziert HealthGateway.Austria die Maßnahmen zur Stärkung der Innovationsfähigkeit der österreichischen Unternehmen und Organisationen im Bereich Life Science & Health, stellt die überregionale Kooperationsintensität auf eine breite Basis und sichert damit den Zugang zu europäischem Know-How im Gesundheitswesen.

Abstract

The European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT) was set up to strengthen Europe's innovative capacity in key infrastructure sectors: improved care, more effective health systems and increased competitiveness. In the innovation network of innovative organisations, entrepreneurs and SMEs as well as educational institutions, new solutions for decisive global challenges together with an operator model are found together. EIT Health focuses on the health sector in order to create preventive, patient-centric and more sustainable health systems in the member states. The EIT Health Austria is the seventh European innovation hub in Austria, which focuses on representing the interests of the Austrian partners in EIT Health, integrating the partners and activities at the location with the global network, and to help shape the future strategic orientation and impact orientation through own agendas and setting of topics.
The main goal of the HealthGateway.Austria innovation laboratory is to act as a contact point and hub for market-oriented, innovation- and impact-oriented European collaborative research within the framework of EIT Health and to bring about the integration of Austrian companies in EIT Health activities and initiatives, so that digitization and sustainability of the healthcare system are strengthened.
Through synergies with existing infrastructures and their players at regional or national level, HealthGateway.Austria increases the measures to strengthen the innovative ability of Austrian companies and organizations in the field of Life Science & Health, puts the cross-regional cooperation intensity on a broad basis and thus ensures access to European Healthcare know-how.
