Projektbeschreibung
Wasserstofftechnologie ist die Schlüsseltechnologie für die nachhaltige Luftfahrt der Zukunft, die die Erreichung der in nationalen und internationalen Klimaschutzplänen gesetzten Emissionsziele und eine Entkoppelung von Verkehrsaufkommen und Emissionen ermöglicht.
Die österreichische Luftfahrtindustrie ist international in einigen Spezialbereichen sehr gut positioniert, wobei die Produktion überwiegend auf europäische und globale Exportmärkte orientiert ist.
Mit dem Green Deal der Europäischen Union sollen bis zum Jahr 2027 bedeutende Finanzmittel für den Wiederaufbau der europäischen Wirtschaft nach der Corona-Krise zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Die Forschung und Entwicklung zu nachhaltigen Technologie ist dabei von besonderer Bedeutung.
In dieser historisch einmaligen Situation sollen die sich daraus ergebenden Möglichkeiten für die österreichische Luftfahrtforschung und -industrie analysiert und gebündelt dargestellt werden.
Die wichtigsten Ziele des Vorhabens sind
• die Analyse zukünftiger Anwendungsmöglichkeiten für Wasserstoff in der Luftfahrt,
• die Erfassung der sich daraus ergebenden Forschungs- und Marktpotenziale,
• die Identifizierung notwendiger Adaptionen der technischen, rechtlichen und institutionellen Rahmenbedingungen,
• die Darstellung der sich daraus für Österreich im Rahmen europäischer Kollaboration ergebenden Möglichkeiten.
Als Ergebnis des Vorhaben AH2AS wird eine Wasserstoff-Roadmap für die österreichische Luftfahrtforschung- und -Industrie vorliegen.
Die Erstellung erfolgt in Kollaboration mit den wesentlichen Akteuren aus Forschung und Industrie sowie im Abgleich mit dem BMK.
Abstract
Hydrogen technology constitutes the key for the sustainable aviation for of the future. This is considered essential to achieve emission targes laid out in national and international climate action programs as well as for the decoupling of transport volume and emissions.
The Austrian aviation industry enjoys a well-deserved position in several specialist sectors. Production is overwhelmingly oriented towards European and global export markets
Over the coming years the European Union’s Green Deal is mobilising substantial funds towards the rebuilding of the European economy following the current Corona-crisis. Research and development in sustainable technologies are of imminent importance in this context.
In this historically unique situation, the resulting opportunities for Austrian aviation science and industries are to be analysed and presented in a focused manner.
• The most important objectives of this project are:
• an analysis of future applications for hydrogen in aviation,
• the charting of research- and market potentials resulting from those,
• the identification of required adaptations of technological, legal and institutional frameworks
• the presentation of opportunities resulting from these developments for Austria in the context of European collaboration.
A Hydrogen-Roadmap for Austrian aviation research and industry, accorded with the BMK, will be the final product of this project.
The development will be carried out in collaboration with relevant actors from the fields of research and industries as well as in accordance with the BMK.
