Projektbeschreibung
Das Institut für Weltraumforschung beteiligt sich am Massenspektrometer MANiaC für die ESA F-Mission Comet Interceptor mit der Entwicklung des On-board Computers (DPU). Der Umfang an Messdaten als auch die hohe Datenrate des Sensors erfordert den Einsatz eines neuen Prozessortyps. Das Projekt konzentriert sich auf die Entwicklung eines Prototyps der MANiaC DPU, basierend auf dem 4-kern Prozessor GR470.
Abstract
The Space Research Institute contributes to the massspectrometer MANiaC, part of the Comet Interceptor mission, the digital processing unit (DPU). Due to the big amount of data, gathered during the flyby and the high data rate of the sensor, a new processor type shall be used. This project concentrates on the development of a prototype of the MANiaC DPU.
