Projektbeschreibung
Österreichische KI-Startups entwickeln hochskalierbare, innovative Technologien die zu neuartigen Risiken in gesellschaftlicher, ethischer und rechtlicher Sicht für Unternehmen und Gesellschaft führen. KI-Startups können diese jedoch derzeit noch nicht hinreichend antizipieren. Es gibt bereits zahlreiche Methoden der Technikfolgenabschätzung, Risikobewertung und Indikatoren welche jedoch für Startups nicht praktikabel sind. Ziel des Sondierungsprojekts ist es, ein Tool für Technikfolgenabschätzung auf Unternehmensebene zu entwickeln, das den spezifischen Anforderungen von AI-Startups entspricht. Die langfristig angedachte großflächige Anwendung dieses Tools in der KI-Startup-Branche trägt zum Vertrauensgewinn der Branche und deren Produkte und Dienstleistungen bei.
Abstract
Austrian AI startups develop highly scalable, innovative technologies that lead to novel social, ethical and legal risks for companies and society. However, AI start-ups are currently unable to sufficiently anticipate these risks. There are already numerous methods of technology assessment, risk assessment and indicators which, however, are not practicable for start-ups. The aim of the exploratory project is to develop a tool for technology assessment at company level that meets the specific requirements of AI start-ups. The long-term adoption of this tool on a large scale in the AI startup industry will contribute to the trust gained by the industry and its products and services.
