Projektbeschreibung
Das Projekt “Quality of life at End of Life” beschäftigt sich zum ersten mal mit dem Ziel, den Bedürfnisse von Menschen in ihrer letzten Lebensphase auch mit Hilfe von smarten und assistierenden Technologien zu begegnen.
Wir möchten Menschen in dieser Situation die Möglichkeit geben ihre Gedanken, Wünsche und Bedürfnisse so lange und so gut als möglich zu kommunizieren. Dazu sollen Methoden und Technologien aus dem Bereich der “Unterstützen Kommunikation”, Augensteuerung, sowie smarte Geräte wie etwa Armbänder über die man aus der Entfernung eine Berührung schicken kann, zum Einsatz kommen.
Mit HIlfe von AR/VR möchten wir Freude durch den virtuellen Besuch von den eigenen Lieblingsplätzen oder die Teilnahme an spirituellen Veranstaltungen ermöglichen.
Die Einbettung dieser neuen Services in die bestehende We+Care Plattform soll das Zusammenwirken von allen Stakeholdern, insbesondere von formeller, informeller und ehrenamtlicher Pflege verbesserung, um die bestmögliche Lebensqualität auch in der letzten Lebensphase zu gewährleisten.
Abstract
The “Quality of Life at the End of Life” project addresses for the first time the specific needs of people in the very last stage of their life and how to meet them by applying smart and assistive technology.
We want to enable people to communicate their thoughts, wishes and needs as long and as good as possible by offering them new ways of communication like alternative and augmentative communication, eye-gaze technology or smart bracelets where a virtual squeeze could be sent over distance.
