Projektbeschreibung

Abstract

The increasing importance of the optimal use of existing material, monetary and human resources is clearly demonstrated by the intensive further developments in the area of asset management and condition assessment. In the field of electrical power transmission, transformers represent cost-intensive node elements that have an influence on safe and reliable grid operation. For a holistic assessment of the condition of transformers, many factors and components (core and windings, insulation system, bushings, etc.) must be taken into account in connection with statistical failure probabilities. The analysis of gases dissolved in the insulating medium (gas-in-oil analysis) represents an essential part of the condition assessment of transformers. At present, however, not all influencing variables on the condition assessment have been sufficiently researched. In particular, these are primarily the degassing of the transformers and the associated falsification of the basis of interpretation or concealment of defects as well as the estimation of the criticality of a defect for the evaluation of the remaining service life.
By the empirical or mathematical determination of the Henry constants and diffusion coefficients, a model based on the boundary layer theory is to be developed, with the help of which a consideration of the degassing of transformers via the drying template is possible. This model will then be integrated into existing and new evaluation methods for condition evaluation in order to optimize them. The second aspect of the research project is the investigation of the relationship between the energy input by electrical and thermal defects and the criticality of a defect. It is an essential part of both aspects that the influencing boundary conditions are determined and considered in order to achieve the best possible results.
