Projektbeschreibung

Abstract

Golfers are forced to use up to 15 different channels and tools (Websites, Apps, Registers, Gadgets) when planning a golf-trip. A typical process would present itself as follows:
One has to visit various websites to gather relevant information about the target-destination and its golf courses, one will then check up on (Google, etc.) and book Golf-Hotels (Booking.com, etc.) on different platforms. Once booked, the next step would be to check up on tourist-attractions und points of interest within the chosen destination on yet another medium (restaurant-guides, TripAdvisor, etc.) Once arrived at the destination, checked in at the hotel and arrived at the golf course, processes are similarly difficult (paper based score-cards, GPS-tracking-tools to measure distances, social media groups to coordinate further activities or share taken pictures or scores).

The aim when creating our digital travel- and golf guide under the premise of our core-concept “Play, Stay, Eat, Meet” was to get rid of clutter, digitalizing a complex, heterogenous process while always keeping the focus on usability. Our Eagle Golf Guide enables our target group to run through the whole process (as described before) within one solution.
The Eagle Golf Guide comes in two versions: An App and a website (limited to travel-planning-functions). Both are fully functional and market ready. The App-Prototype, with it’s basic core functions is available at the play store since April 2017 and has been downloaded more than 7000 times, allowing us to constantly gather feedback from our Users.

During our Market-entry we will add another layer of features to the product (no technological risk involved). The features will be: a digital scorecard, a digital birdie book and a group-travel-tool.

Our solution focuses on two customer groups: Golfers (free usage) as well as golf-clubs and related businesses (paying to be represented in the eagle golf guide).

During our Marketing campaign we plan to establish the Eagle Golf Guide in 16 countries, using external sales staff on a commission basis. As of marketing we will rely on target-group-centred marketing activities, such as trade fairs, tournament presence, social media campaigns and search engine marketing. Additionally, our well-established inhouse magazine Perfect Eagle will implement the concept “Play, Stay, Eat, Meet” in order to increase brand recognition within the target group.

Our aim is to reach and connect our target groups with our product, which digitalizes and merges all processes that occur when doing a golf-trip or spending a golf-day.
