Projektbeschreibung

Abstract

In times of rapid innovation cycles standardized, particularly client-based software solutions are no longer sufficient to support employees in an optimal way with implementing new ideas, processes and strategies in their company. Software architectures have to be more flexible and agile in the age of "Industry 4.0" in order to respond quickly to changing market conditions (for example to individual customer requirements or changing business models).
Especially for SMEs it is important to adjust quickly to changing market events, be flexible and adapt their processes rapid to remain competitive. In this context process management is of high importance even for smaller enterprises.
In many medium-sized companies there are no defined business processes. Many workflows are not yet digitized and are still on paper, in Microsoft Excel or performed even more cumbersome by email. That means they are unstructured, cumbersome, slow and not documented and especially not sustainable. Given that it is a big threat that there is no legal compliance of these standard processes. This can have serious consequences for the company.
There is a high variety of processes, which can be integrated into existing system environments only with high costs (unless a standard ERP system at all is in use). Furthermore there are satellite processes which cannot be covered by standard software in general.

With the completion and launch of the prototype “BPcomplete” as a pure “as a service” solution – based on pre-configured, ready-to-use standard processes – these processes can be quickly implemented and feasible even for small and medium sized companies. By providing that solution in the cloud these companies can then use tools that were previously reserved for large enterprises. So the strength of “BPcomplete” is not only being intuitive, but also - as a cloud service - being cost transparent and projectable. This strengthens the Austrian SMEs.

Currently a cloud-based prototype is available covering the basic business processes in quality management and idea management. This runs on every device – on desktop PCs as well as on mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.

With realizing this project and using the funding, these basic processes will be extended up to 50 business processes. This will be a very good base to reach readiness for market and being able to introduce the first basic processes into the market.

We also want to use the funding to integrate a number of pilot customers into the process evaluation and into the solution design phase. With additional extensive marketing activities it will be possible that the solution will be rapidly known in the target market. By extensive mapping of business processes in our cloud-based solution, we can increase the efficiency of our target customers quickly and make SMEs more successful.
