Projektbeschreibung
Durch das Physical Internet (eine Kombination von Güter- und Informationsflüssen in Anlehnung an die Funktionsweise des digitalen Internet) wird eine nachhaltige Reorganisation der Transportlogistik zur Erzielung positiver ökonomischer, ökologischer und gesellschaftlicher Effekte angestrebt. In Anwendung des „Internet der Dinge“ in der Logistik werden genormte Container, die Informationen über Inhalt und Zieldestination(en) mit sich führen, für den Transport eingesetzt, um dynamisch die optimale Routenführung und die beste Lieferart ermitteln und steuern zu können. Derzeit nicht ausschöpfbare Optimierungspotenziale können so durch einen völlig neuen Lösungsansatz für die Transportlogistik gehoben werden.
Abstract
By applying the Physical Internet (a combination of flows of goods and information following the principles of the Digital Internet) we strive to achieve a sustainable reorganization of transport logistics in order to gain positive economic, ecological and social effects. This is being achieved by applying the “Internet of Things” in logistics with standardized containers carrying information about their content as well as their destination(s), which allows for dynamically chosing the optimal route and the best possible method of delivery. By applying this new solution approach for transport logistics, currently unexploited potentials for optimization can be realized.
